After a few years I finally had the chance to organize a concert in the garden by engaging a Jazz Ensemble “L’ARC EN CIEL” which means in English Rainbow. It is led by Burty Bedeux who comes from Mauritius and some friends who join him. So there is a Contrabass- and a Clarinet Player and maybe also some other instruments. It will be exciting to have it in the garden and we are hoping that the weather will be nice on the Saturday, 7th of March.
Burty Bedeux is from the tropical and multi-cultural island of Mauritius. He has lived in different places in Australia and New Zealand and now calls Cambridge home. A creative pianist well versed in improvisation who plays with moments of sudden inventiveness that captures mind, body and spirit.
Burty has performed in various occasions in Australia and New Zealand including the Halls Gap Music Festival in Australia, solo concert at the Waikato Museum, La Fete de la Musique in Auckland and in Hamilton, the French Movie Festival opening night at the Lido cinema in Hamilton, the Nivara Lounge, the Waikato University (Spirit of Arts Festival).
Burty has been ambassador of live music for many years. He has organised music jams/workshops for the community giving musicians an opportunity to connect in a friendly environment. He created the ‘Melbourne Music Performers’ Meet up when he lived in Australia and the group is still organising jam sessions every month. He is also a volunteer musician in a few Waikato rest homes.
Burty will be joined by local musicians on the occasion. Don’t miss an afternoon of improvisation and spontaneity!
