Attendees of my house concerts will be very familiar with the musical talent nutured by the University of Waikato Conservatorium of Music. Over the years we've had the pleasure of hearing fine performances from many of its students. This concert will - for the first time - allow us to hear performances from students from the Conservatorium together with those from Te Pae Kōkako.

Te Pae Kōkako - otherwise known as The Aotearoa New Zealand Opera Studio - is a new, year-long immersive MMus programme at the University of Waikato designed to provide exceptionally promising young opera singers with training and experience at an international level. It is the only programme of its kind in Aotearoa New Zealand and open to a maximum of six singers per year. It encompasses all the necessary elements required to give singers the best possible start on the global stage.
