The  Morandini House Concert on Friday 23rd March 2012, at 6.30pm. features two outstanding young New Zealand musicians.

Both Gabrielle Peake (piano) and Edward King (cello) are on the brink of exciting international performing careers. For this gem of a concert, their performances will include works by Beethoven, Poulenc, Debussy, Piatti and Frank.

The evening's programme comprises

  • Beethoven - Variations for cello and piano in E-flat Major on "Bei Männern welche Liebe fühlen" from Mozart's Magic Flute, WoO46
  • Poulenc - Sonata for cello and piano op. 143
  • Debussy - Images Book II (piano solo)
  • Piatti - Caprices 7 & 11 from 12 caprices for solo cello op. 25
  • Franck - Sonata for cello and piano in A major (originally violin)
