Gregor Morandini

Gregor Morandini

Gregor was born in Switzerland and lived there until he moved to NZ in 2000. He has always been interested in music but it was only when he was in his fifties that he started to sing, and take solo singing lessons. He joined a small choir of 16 voices and sang the bass solo parts in works by Mozart and Schubert, as well as singing in local concerts together with other soloists. He has been an active member of the Hamilton Civic Choir since arriving in New Zealand.

Gregor has sung “Dichterliebe” by Schumann before, and this performance is dedicated to the memory of his late wife Helga, and their mutual love of music.
